Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Grease a cookie sheet.
Filling:
Mix together:
- 1/2 c sugar
- 2 or 3 tsp of cinnamon (or more if you like it strong)
Mix together:
- 3 c flour
- 1/8 c baking powder
- 1/3 c sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Add and mix until crumbly:
1 stick of margarine
The best way to do this is to use a pastry blender or two knives and just cut through the mixture until it is the size of peas.
Add and stir with fork:
- 1 cup of cold milk
You may need a little more. Or a little water if the mixture is very dry. It should stick together with no bits of flour loose.
Put onto floured surface and knead 15 times ... do not overmix or overknead.
Roll flat, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture, roll up and cut into 12 pieces. Place on sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Ovens vary .. maybe 14 to 17. Biscuits should be golden colored.
FOR PLAIN BISCUITS: Roll dough out to the width of your thumb knuckle and cut with floured glass into 12 plain biscuits.. no filling.
