1 pound of butter
1/4 cup of confectioners sugar
1 or 2 teaspoons of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of salt
4 cups of flour
1 pound of confectioners sugar
• Preheat oven to 350 degrees
• Cream butter until light and fluffy with mixer
• Add vanilla, salt, sugar and mix well
• Add flour slowly while mixing. Final cup may need to be added by hand if mix gets too stiff for mixer
• Shape by tablespoons into crescents with floured hands on floured board
• Place on ungreased cookie sheets
• Bake for 15 minutes exactly. Let cool on pan for a few minutes and then lift off onto sugared plate or pyrex pan (I use a 9 x 13 brownie pan) with spatula. Sift more confectioners sugar on top. Let cool before transferring to plate or storage container. Work carefully. Cookies are crumbly when hot.
